The décor is based on the South East and the great ocean that Port MacDonnell is part of and this is reflected in the soft sand and red tones of the bistro. The outstanding Bistro features a majestic red gum bar top, supported by a lime stone bar frontage consisting of different grades of stone cut from the local area. The water feature highlights what coastal Port MacDonnell is about, the ocean. It provides a relaxing background sound of water running over the local seashells at the base of the feature. The sunken shipwreck appears in the background and the fish continually change colours behind the running water. Constantly playing on the large screen TV are numerous shots of the local area and attractions above and below the surface.
The Shipwreck Bistro Menu has a great selection of seafood dishes as well as traditional Bistro menu items of chicken, lamb, beef and vegetarian dishes. The Bistro prides itself in providing local produce, which includes crayfish natural and thermadore, South Australian oysters and the fresh fish of the day, which is seasonal and varies throughout the year. There is also a great selection for the children with five choices available. Our delicious desserts are on display and can be enjoyed with the many coffees, tea and hot chocolates that can be produced from our Espresso machine.
